Limerick Feral Cats is a small group of cat-loving volunteers, dedicated to improving the lives of feral cats in Limerick city and county. We do this primarily by neutering and returning the cats. We also provide food and shelter for feral cats that have no one to look out for them. On occasion we have tame cats and kittens for rehoming.
Thank you to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine for their grant to Limerick Feral Cats of €21,800 in December 2022. This allows us to run our low-cost neutering scheme in 2023 and helps feed and provide shelters to neutered colonies.
EDUCATIONAL EVENTS
![]() Limerick Feral Cats are available to speak with students, community groups, residents' associations etc. on issues surrounding feral cats and the benefits of TNR - Trap, Neuter and Return. We also have educational leaflets that we can distribute. A manual on feral cat care is available for vets and vet nurses.
ADOPTING FROM LIMERICK FERAL CATSOur cats and kittens have all been rescued from the streets. We've nursed them back to full health and given them lots of TLC so they will be happy, friendly pets. Our final task is to place them in loving homes so they have a happy ever after.
If you're interested in adopting from Limerick Feral Cats, we like to meet you at your home before you bring a cat or kitten into your life. It's a chance to have a chat and work out what cat or kitten currently in our care would best suit your home, your family and your work life. It also gives us the opportunity to give you some support on how to introduce a cat or kittens to your other pets, how to kitten-proof your home and how to best settle them in when they arrive. If you have small children, we can show them how to handle the cat or kitten so that it's enjoyable for both of them and no one gets scratched! All our cats and kittens have a check-up at the vet and are wormed, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We absorb most of the costs ourselves, but we do ask for a modest donation towards their neutering. We are always here for any help and advice you need after you have adopted. ![]() Limerick Feral Cats feed a large number of feral cats that would otherwise go hungry. These are cats that we have neutered and given shelter, but have no one else to care for them. We hugely appreciate donations of cat food. The cats need both tinned food and dry food. Give us a call or drop us a text if you can donate some. We'll gladly collect if from you if needed. No amount is too small.
